Berlin is famous for its exciting club scene. The capital boasts legendary clubs such as Berghain, Sisyphos, and Watergate. While staying with us at EastSeven, you might feel like diving into Berlin’s nightlife, dancing to techno beats, and partying. But when does the party start? When do Berlin clubs open?
Here, we’ll tell you when the city’s most popular clubs open their doors. Because we at EastSeven Hostel want you to have a great time in our city, discover cool spots, and meet awesome people.
When does Berghain open?
Berghain is probably Berlin’s most famous club and has earned a legendary international reputation. Exciting events regularly take place here, with renowned DJs playing and making the dance floor shake.
If such an event is scheduled, you’ll find the start time on the club’s website. In most cases, events at the club start at 10 PM, but they can sometimes begin earlier.
Additionally, the Klubnacht (Club Night) takes place every Saturday. It traditionally starts at 11:59 PM, one minute before midnight. However, this doesn’t mean you have to be at the door exactly on time to be in the club as early as possible.
Berghain is known for its very long parties. A duration of 24 hours is not uncommon, and sometimes the Klubnacht can last until Monday morning.

When does Sisyphos open?
Sisyphos has a similarly illustrious reputation to Berghain. This club is also known worldwide and is a popular destination for both Berliners and tourists.
If you’re a bit interested in Greek mythology, the club’s namesake will certainly be familiar to you. Because the mythological Sisyphus tricked the gods multiple times, he was condemned to roll a heavy stone up a mountain, over and over again.
Of course, you don’t have to do that at Club Sisyphos. And yet, the parties are similar to its namesake’s task: you party and party and party.
You can enter the club from Friday at 10 PM, and it stays open until Monday – sometimes until noon. So you can dance and enjoy the music for 60 hours. In between, you can take breaks in the huts located on the club grounds.
However, you can also get a stamp on your hand and go home. Once you’ve had enough sleep or rest, you can simply return to the club.

When does Watergate open?
If you don’t necessarily want to party on the weekend, Watergate could be your top choice among Berlin clubs. This venue is known for having wild parties on weekdays too.
Events regularly take place on Mondays and/or Thursdays. Entry is usually at 11 PM, and the parties then last until the early morning hours.
But you can also party at Watergate on weekends. There’s usually a party on Friday and Saturday. Entry also begins at 11 PM, and the event lasts until the next morning.
Watergate, by the way, owes its name to its location directly on the Spree River. If you want to have a view of the river while dancing, you should choose the Waterfloor. There, a large window front offers an unobstructed view of the water.
Alternatively, you can move to great music from talented DJs on the Mainfloor.

When do other popular Berlin clubs open?
Another popular club in Berlin is Ritter Butzke. Throughout the week, you can attend several worthwhile events there. Opening hours vary. The best way to find out when you can go clubbing is to check the venue’s homepage.
Ritter Butzke usually invites you to dance on Fridays and Saturdays. Entry typically starts at 10 PM. However, you might be able to get into the club earlier.
Dancing takes place on three dance floors at the venue. In summer, an outdoor area is added where you can breathe in the fresh evening air while partying.
In addition to nightly parties, the club is also known for various cultural events. Among other things, the poetry slam “Spree vom Weizen” regularly takes place in its premises. Eloquent poets and comedians take the microphone to wild beats and flickering lights.
If you’re interested in this type of event, you can be at the club’s door as early as 8 PM on those dates.
If you don’t feel like waiting until late in the evening for your club visit, Klunkerkranich might be for you. It often opens its doors in the afternoon or early evening. It’s not uncommon for an event at the club to start as early as 5 PM.
This also makes it easy if you want to attend one of the weekday events and have to get up early the next morning.
Of course, you can also stay longer and enjoy the party until the end, as it often doesn’t finish until the next morning.
The highlight at Klunkerkranich is its rooftop terrace. The venue is located on the 5th floor of the Neukölln Arkaden. As the sun slowly sets over Berlin, you’ll be dancing on the roof of the shopping center towards the next morning.
